Taxi & Private Hire in London: common questions

How many taxi & private hire are listed in London?

Promote Your Business lists 2 taxi & private hire in London. Those listings were last added or updated on 31 August 2026. The directory is not exhaustive — it holds the businesses that have been submitted and reviewed, not every taxi & private hire trading in the area.

Do taxi & private hire in the UK have to be registered or licensed?

Taxi and private-hire drivers are licensed by their local council, not nationally, and the vehicle needs its own licence as well as the driver.

How do I check a taxi & private hire in London is qualified?

Check the council licence plate on the vehicle and the badge the driver must display. A private-hire car must be booked in advance and may not be hailed in the street.

Are the taxi & private hire listed here vetted or reviewed?

Every submission is checked before it appears. If the business's own website names it and the details are complete, it is published automatically; anything else is read by a person, who checks that the business is real, that the details make sense, and that the category and location are right. Nothing is scraped from other sites. That is a check on the listing, not an endorsement of the work — Promote Your Business publishes no ratings, star scores or customer reviews, so you should still make your own checks before hiring.
